Miami Beach Magic

Bell Landscape Architecture, Inc. collaborates with Architect Zeb Jarosz and Jarosz Development on the design of a new Miami Beach home. The modern aesthetic envisioned for the home and gardens is reminiscent of Miami mid-century modern architecture, yet boasts a more richly sophisticated palette of materials.  This project is currently in the design and permitting phase.

Sources of Inspiration

The Banyan Inn – Key West , Florida

While traveling, even on a short day trip from home, I find inspiration in our tropical surroundings. This exquisite early 19th Century structure built in the Key West style functions as a luxury “bed and breakfast” today. The intricate wood detailing and custom craftsmanship is almost a lost art. I especially love the peaked frames over the windows and the operable plantation shutters that are painted dark bottle green, blending into the lushness of the garden seamlessly. The Inn gets it’s name from the gigantic Banyan trees hugging the fascade and creating a dense shady canopy overhead.
